Feedback Needed on New Trail Design

The pedestrian/bicycle trail will be constructed from Atlanta Road to Fairground Street via East Dixie Avenue and Larry Bell Park in Marietta beginning April 2014.

The city of Marietta has been awarded federal grant funds to construct a pedestrian/bicycle trail, and citizen input is being sought for the project’s design.

The multi-use trail will be constructed from Atlanta Road to Fairground Street via East Dixie Avenue and Larry Bell Park beginning in April 2014.

The proposed work will consist of new sidewalks/pedestrian paths, landscape improvements at the intersection of Atlanta Road and East Dixie Avenue, and miscellaneous pedestrian enhancements.

These improvements will provide greater accessibility for pedestrians and bicyclists between the Kennesaw Mountain to Chattahoochee River Trail and the University Trail.

A design workshop will take place July 26 from 4-6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Grace Point Marietta Church, 505 Atlanta St.
