The Georgia Court of Appeals on Tuesday overturned the convictionof former Glock CEO Paul Jannuzzo, according to the Associated Press.

A Cobb County jury in March 2012 found Jannuzzo guilty of stealing a pistol and conspiring with another former executive to steal millions from the international gun manufacturer, has its North American headquarters in Smyrna at 6000 Highland Pkwy. He was sentenced to seven years in prison.

The Georgia Court of Appeals reversed that conviction this week because "the state failed to indict Jannuzzo within the statute of limitations," according to the report from the AP.

Jannuzzo's lawyers were working Tuesday to get him released, attorney John Da Grosa Smith told the AP.
