Marietta Recognizes Governor’s Honors Program Participants

Two Marietta High School students were chosen to participate in the 2012 Georgia Governor's Honors program in German and communicative arts.

Mayor Steve Tumlin and principal Leigh Colburn honored MHS sophomore Jackson Mitchell and junior Jessica Luegering for being chosen to participate in the 2012 Georgia Governor’s Honors Program.

“We have 2,000 wonderful students and are very proud that in the country, and here are two wonderful reasons why,” Colburn said.

“The Governor’s Honors Program is an extremely selective process where they look at students all over the state of Georgia, and take them down to South Georgia and immerse them in lots of academic study,” she said. “Jessica and Jackson are going to represent our city there this summer.”
