Marietta Street Closures for Railroad Maintenance
In addition to the railroad maintenance on Mill Street and Kennesaw and Whitlock avenues, Marietta hopes to restripe the Waverly Way railroad crossing to reduce accidents.
CSX Railroad will temporarily close the following streets all day for three or four days at their railroad crossings for scheduled maintenance:
- Mill Street - beginning Aug. 1
- Kennesaw Avenue - beginning Aug. 6
- Whitlock Avenue - beginning Aug. 13

CSX performs maintenance of the crossings every two to five years to smooth and improve the efficiency of the tracks for vehicles and trains.
