Street Detours Planned for Railroad Maintenance in Marietta

Polk Street, Marble Mill Road and East Dixie Avenue are among the roads being closed in Marietta at railroad crossings for scheduled maintenance.

CSX Railroad will temporarily close the following streets all day for three or four days at their railroad crossings for scheduled maintenance.

  • Polk Street: repair and repave crossing, closed from Church Street to North Marietta Parkway, Aug. 28-31
  • Marble Mill Road: replace crossties on tracks, closed from Church Street extension to Kennesaw Avenue, Aug. 27-30 
  • East Dixie Avenue: level railroad track and repave crossing, closed from East Atlanta Street to West Atlanta Street, Aug. 28-30

CSX performs maintenance of the crossings every two to five years to smooth and improve the efficiency of the tracks for vehicles and trains.
