A public hearing on the draft plan for the university activity center will be held at the July 10 City Council meeting.

Students, faculty and alumni of Life and Southern Polytechnic State universities, residents, and business and property owners are invited to attend a public hearing July 10 and give input on the draft plan for the Marietta University Enhancement District Livable Centers Initiative study area. 

The draft MU2 LCI plan will be presented to the mayor and city council for final comments and action. Attendees will have an opportunity to make comments to the mayor and city council on the recommendations of the draft plan.

The purpose of the eight-month study, which is nearing completion, is to create a redevelopment plan for Cobb Parkway and South Marietta Parkway, increase visibility of Life and Southern Polytechnic State universities, and better connect the universities with the surrounding community. The proposed plan will be used to increase public and private investment in the area.

The draft plan is available for review online and is on file in Marietta's Planning and Zoning Department located on the second floor of City Hall, 205 Lawrence St., between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The public hearing will be held at 7 p.m. in the Council chamber located on the lobby level of City Hall.
