Romeo’s Tip of the Week: Try to heed all warnings and cautions given by local government and emergency services. It could possibly save a life (maybe yours).

Posts by Romeo, the little black dog!

Hello everyone!

This week, Mother Nature sent us a reminder that winter is very much alive and kickin’. A powerful winter storm named Nemo hit the northeast and brought everyone’s life to a standstill. Some cities recieved up to 36 inches of the white stuff. WOW!

It got me thinking about this storm’s name…how did they come up with it? Afterall, when I hear the name Nemo I think of the friendly and lovable clown fish in the popular movie “Finding Nemo”. He was far from destructive. Have you ever noticed how some people and pets are given names that just seem to suit them to a tee? Like my pal Shredder, a black lab, never tears up things in his house but he can sure shred up some of his toys.

Upon learning someone’s name when meeting them, people will sometimes comment that they look like their name. Now that sounds a bit silly, but think about it for a moment. Sometimes it seems to be true. Take my name for instance, Romeo. We all know that the name Romeo is assocciated with “love”. That seems to fit me quite well. I am a friendly dog with a lot love to give. And I sure enjoy receiving it, as well. How could my momma have possibly known what my personality would be when she gave me my name?

Also, have you ever noticed how pleasant things seem to have rather pleasant names and things that are unpleasant seem to have corresponding names? The line “what’s in a name?” could open quite an interesting and possibly funny discussion. Does anyone have any thoughts or comments on this subject? I’d love to hear them!
