A.L. Burruss Elementary to Host Superintendent Community Dialogue

Superintendent Saturday allows Dr. Emily Lembeck to share recent district accomplishments, new strategic initiatives and progress overall.

Marietta City Schools (MCS) Superintendent, Dr. Emily Lembeck will host Superintendent Saturday”, a community dialogue, at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 18, at A.L. Burruss Elementary, 325 Manning Road, Marietta.

“Superintendent Saturday
” is free and open to the public. 

“It is important for me to provide regular opportunities throughout the school year to meet with parents and guardians, and members of the community,” Superintendent Lembeck said. “Superintendent Saturday allows me to share recent district accomplishments, new strategic initiatives and our progress overall. More importantly, Superintendent Saturday helps me to keep parental and community engagement strong.”

Marietta City Schools serve some 8,800 students at eight elementary choice schools, one of which is a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Magnet, one middle school, one sixth-grade school and one high school.

STEM Magnet Programs are also available in grades 6-8.

In June 2008, Marietta City Schools became one of Georgia's first Charter School Systems. MCS is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School district, and is one of only a few school systems nationwide able to provide the full IB (K-12) continuum.
