Area Movie Theaters Get Bomb Threats; 4 Arrested for Auto Break-Ins

In other area headlines, four men were arrested for allegedly breaking into cars during a Douglas County party, and a Georgia Tech student has been indicted on 25 counts of online sex.

Hiram’s Carmike Theater Target of Bomb Threats

Authorities from Paulding and Cobb counties responded Friday to bomb threats aimed at Hiram’s Movies 278 but found nothing threatening.

Police also fanned out to Carmike locations in Atlanta, Canton, Cartersville, Conyers, Cumming, Newnan and Snellville after the movie theater's corporate office received bomb threats from callers who identified themselves as employees of a Carmike vendor, according to WSB-TV and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

4 Arrested for Auto Break-Ins

Four men were arrested Thursday for allegedly breaking into cars at a party and lying to Douglas County Sheriff's deputies.

On the evening of Aug. 11, the four men attended the party and "got into an altercation with some of the other people at the party and broke into a number of vehicles at the house. Several items were stolen including a cellular phone and a gear shifter," the Sheriff's Office says. 

Police Hope Tattoo Pics Will Help ID Dead Man 

Gwinnett County police haven't determined the cause of death or the identity of a man found dead last week.

Police discovered the man's body in the early morning hours after receiving a call of a suspicious person sleeping or possibly dead behind the office building at 25 Technology Parkway South. The homicide unit was called to investigate after police discovered several head injuries.

In an effort to help identify the man, police have released images of two tattoos found on his body in hopes that someone will recognize him.

Man Arrested in Rape of Norcross Teen

The Gwinnett County authorities arrested a Lawrenceville man last week on charges of burglary and rape that occurred in a Norcross home.

Duoc Nguyen, 21, allegedly broke into the home and raped a 16-year-old girl, according to a press release from the Gwinnett Sheriff's Office. Felony warrants for Nguyen were issued Sunday.

Tech Student Indicted on Online Sex Charges

A fifth year mechanical engineering student at Georgia Tech has been indicted on 25 counts of online sex in Dougherty County.

Atlanta police arrested Adam Morse, 22, in early June after investigators say the Meldrim, Ga., native sent two dozen pornographic pictures of himself and lots of sexually explicit conversation messages to whom he thought was a 13-year-old girl, but was in fact a member of the Dougherty County Police Internet Crimes Against Children team.
