Cobb Educators Named 'Master Teachers'

The designation is good for seven years.

Two Cobb County educators today joined an elite group of highly skilled teachers who have “positively influenced student achievement in the classroom.”

Gov. Nathan Deal recognized Lisa A. Green of Big Shanty Elementary, Rose M. White of Pope High School and 56 other Georgia educators who were named Master Teachers.

Teachers earn ‘Master Teacher’ certification based on classroom performance on the Criterion-Referenced Competency Test, documented student growth and exemplary professional practices, according to a statement from the governor’s office.
