Military Academy Day 2012

U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson is playing host to Georgia's annual statewide Military Academy Day at in Marietta from 10 to 11:30 a.m. May 12.

The event will help familiarize eighth- to 12th-graders with the application and nomination process to attedn any of the nation’s five service academies.

Representatives from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, as well as the deputy director of the Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board, will explain their requirements and expectations and answer questions.

Georgia Congressmen Phil Gingrey, Hank Johnson and Rob Woodall are scheduled to join Isakson at the event.

Guests may arrive as early as 9 a.m. to visit information tables and avoid congestion at the entrance gate.

You must make reservations by 5 p.m. April 30 and must present photo identification at the main entrance gate for admittance.
