Save the Dates - Dine Out for Kids is August 20-23

Join Communities In Schools of Marietta/Cobb County (CISMCC) and area restaurants as we plan to eat out on Monday, August 20 through Thursday, August 23, 2012, during the annual Dine Out For Kids® (DOFK) event. Local restaurants participate and support their community by donating a portion of any or all of those day’s profits to CIS. Statistics show that 1 out of 3 public high school students in the U.S. will not graduate, but together we can make a difference.  Proceeds from this event help prevent school drop-outs, and prepare students to succeed in school, and plan for college and careers by providing more after-school, literacy, youth leadership and other educational programs.

Visit www.cismcc.org and/or www.dineoutforkids.com for more information on how to participate. Restaurants are currently being asked to take part in the event and may sign up via the website registration form. CISMCC requests Cobb County restaurants to sign up specifically via the www.cismcc.org website. Participating restaurants will receive posters and table tents to display, and will be publicized via numerous media outlets as a supporting business to help keep kids in school and help them prosper in life.

Diners can also visit the website and download a flyer to take to the restaurant of their choice to show that they are Dining Out for Kids®. Additionally, patrons can mail in their dining receipt from the event to our state office and be entered into a drawing for prizes. The list of articipating restaurants will be updated often so check back to see if your favorite is on the list.
