Governor's Office Recognizes Schools in Marietta

The Marietta Center for Advanced Academics, West Side Elementary, Lost Mountain Middle School and Due West Elementary School were recognized by the Georgia Governor's Office of Student Achievement.

were recognized under Georgia's Single Statewide Accountability System, developed by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement, to award schools based on their performance on state curriculum exams and Adequate Yearly Progress status.

was awarded the Highest Performing Gold award, and was awarded the Highest Performing Bronze award.

Forty-one Cobb schools and 370 Georgia public schools were recognized for improvement and achievement during the 2010-2011 school year, according to Gov. Nathan Deal.
