Kroger to Donate $9,000 to Marietta City Schools

Kroger's Atlanta Division will donate a total of $9,000 in grants to Marietta City Schools, including A.L. Burruss Elementary, Westside Elementary School and Marietta Middle School.

Kroger’s Atlanta Division – which includes Georgia, South Carolina, Eastern Tennessee and Northern Alabama – will donate a total of $9,000 in grants to three Marietta City Schools as part of its 2012-2013 “Earning Plus Learning” program.

The annual contest invited schools from across the Division to creatively describe their efforts to “Go for the Gold” throughout the school year in terms of diversity, nutrition, exercise, fair play and helping others.

“Kroger’s Earning Plus Learning program has donated millions of dollars to local schools and students throughout the years,” said Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division. “We are proud to reward these deserving schools who have worked hard to set examples for each other and their surrounding communities.”
