Osborne, Smitha Rewarded for High Progress

Five Cobb schools named Title I Reward Schools.

Osborne High and Smitha Middle in Marietta are two of five Cobb schools named a Title I Reward School by the Georgia Department of Education as part of the new state accountability system.

Campbell Middle School and Belmont Hills Elementary School in Smyrna and Lindley Sixth Grade Academy in Mableton were also among the 10 percent of Title I schools statewide that showed the greatest improvement in student performance over the past three years, according to the Cobb County School District. Title I is the federal law that provides extra funds for schools based on student economic needs.
