Marietta BOE Seeks Input on Proposed School Calendars

The Board of Education of the City of Marietta reviewed two calendar options for the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 school years and agreed to solicit input from parents/guardians and school employees.

Marietta City Schools' School Governance Teams (SGT) will work with their individual schools to solicit input from all parents and guardians, and district employees, regarding two proposed calendar options for the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 school years.

SGTs will submit their individual recommendations to the Superintendent by the deadline of Friday, Dec. 7, 2012.

The Board of Education of the City of Marietta reviewed two calendar options for each school year and agreed to solicit input from parents/guardians and school employees via the School Governance Teams, prior to voting on the matter at their regular Board meeting of Dec. 18, 2012.

The proposed calendars offer first day of school for students start dates ranging from August 6 to August 12. Parents/guardians, MCS employees and community members can view the proposed school calendars online at http://www.marietta-city.org/schools/calendar.php or look at the attached PDF to see a comparison of the different proposals.
