The Marietta City Schools (MCS) School Nutrition Department is the recipient of an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation Kids Eat Right Mini-Grants valued at $200 made possible through an educational grant from The Coca-Cola Company.
“This grant will provide Marietta Middle School students an opportunity to learn about the importance of healthy snacking and new ideas for healthy and delicious snacks to feel and perform their best,” said Cindy Culver, MCS Director of School Nutrition.
“The Academy and its Foundation fully support Kids Eat Right mini-grants as a strategy to engage our members who are experts in food and nutrition, with useful healthy eating educational tools to use in their community with kids and parents.”
Kids Eat Right is a member-driven public education campaign designed to ensure that sound nutrition recommendations are part of childhood obesity prevention.
