Marietta Graduate in the Spotlight: Allison Goins

Marietta Patch is featuring a dozen recent Marietta High School graduates this week. Join us in congratulating them on their accomplishments and for their graduation from high school on Saturday.

Allison Goins, 18

Accomplishments: President of Sisters Together Achieving Real Success (STARS), a community service group; vice president of Marietta High Honor Society; a member of the Spanish Honor Society; took courses in the school’s International Baccalaureate program; and a member of the tennis team.

Best Memory of High School: Proud of STARS reading program to encourage students at Dunleith Elementary School to succeed.

Post-graduation Plans: Attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham to study chemistry and complete a pre-medicine program.

Final thoughts about Marietta High and the Class of 2011: Allison, who attended Marietta schools since kindergarten, remains impressed with the school system’s diversity and academics. “This is not just a good academic school, but it has a club for everything.  There is something for everyone so they can fit in and learn.”
