Marietta High School Graduation Rate Increases

Dunleith Elementary School meets AYP goals.

’s graduation rate increased to 85.8 from 80.5. The 88.4 percent graduation rate for black students and 89.9 percent graduation rate for white students narrowed the gap to an unprecedented 1.5 percent.

One additional Marietta City School, , made Adequate Yearly Progress, bringing the total to 10 schools meeting AYP goals for the 2010-2011 school year.

met 13 out of 14 categories but missed the AYP mark by not meeting the English Language Arts requirements in a single student subgroup area.

“Overall, there were many successes to celebrate and at this point we are focused on preparing our students for reaching even higher achievement bars,” said , superintendent, in a press release.

The Georgia Department of Education’s final release of AYP includes scores from the summer re-tests of the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests as well as summer graduate information.
