MCS has 98 school buses and transports nearly 6,300 students to and from school each school day.

Marietta City Schools (MCS) honors National School Bus Safety Week, Oct. 22-26, 2012. Georgia School Bus Drivers Appreciation Day is Oct. 22, 2012. 

MCS has 98 school buses and transports nearly 6,300 students to and from school each school day. The 2012 National School Bus Safety Week theme is “Stand Back from the Yellow and Black.”

“During School Bus Safety Week, we want citizens to understand the importance of school bus safety,” said Mark Lindstrom, MCS Director of Transportation.

“Motorists are required to stop for stopped school buses that are displaying flashing red lights and a stop arm. Cobb Police Department is currently conducting Operation Stop Arm and warning all drivers to respect school buses.”

School buses are the safest form of highway transportation. Every school day, approximately 25 million American children ride 480,000 school buses.
