Three Marietta Middle School (MMS) students, Eric Finderup, Andrew Levine and Hrithik Saride, have earned state level recognition in the annual Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP).

Each student will be recognized at the Duke TIP State Award Ceremony Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Southern Polytechnic State University.

“A student who scores exceptionally well on the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills® (ITBS®) is eligible to participate in the Duke TIP 7th Grade Talent Search,” said Dr. Tim Jones, MMS principal. “Students who participate are then invited to take the ACT or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT®). Of the 14 students at MMS that took the test, three qualified for state recognition acknowledging exceptional performance on either of the two tests.”
