Marietta Performing Arts Center Hosts Congressional Art Competition Exhibit

This exhibit highlights the artistic work of high school students participating in the eleventh District Congressional competition sponsored by Congressman Phil Gingrey.

The Marietta Performing Arts Center (MPAC) located at Marietta High School (MCS) will host the 33rd Annual Congressional Art Competition Exhibit from Feb. 10 through Feb. 15, 2014.

This exhibit highlights the artistic work of high school students participating in the eleventh District Congressional competition sponsored by Congressman Phil Gingrey.

Winning entries from each district-wide contest are displayed in the Cannon Building in Washington. 

Since 1982, nearly 5,000 local contestants involving more than 650,000 students have participated in the Congressional Art Competition.

A panel of judges will select three winners to receive scholarships from the Art Institute of Atlanta and the Savannah College of Art and Design.

The first place winner will also receive an invitation to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony of the new Cannon Building display in June 2014.

  • Monday (Feb. 10), Wednesday (Feb. 12), Friday (Feb. 14): 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. 
  • Tuesday (Feb. 11), Thursday (Feb. 13):  9 a.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Saturday (Feb.15): 3 – 10 p.m.
