MCAA Recognized for Using Technology, Creating Pathways for Student Success

Marietta Center for Advanced Academics (MCAA) is one of ten schools statewide selected for the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education (GPEE) 2012 annual Bus Trip Across Georgia.

The GPEE bus will make a stop at MCAA, Monday, Oct. 29 from 8:30 – 11 a.m. This year’s Bus Trip theme is “Georgia’s Public Schools: Using Technology, Creating Pathways for Student Success.” 

“Considering that technology is the theme of this year’s Bus Trip Across Georgia, we are honored to be included as one of the schools selected as a stop” said MCAA Principal Jennifer Hernandez. “MCAA is the first Georgia Department of Education Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) certified school.”

In addition to a stop at MCAA, the second leg of the annual GPEE tour includes stops at  Loganville High School, Walton County Schools; Kelly Mill Elementary, Forsyth County Schools; South Forsyth High School and Lanier Technical College, Oakwood campus.

Schools selected as stops have demonstrated the use of technology to enhance learning, increase access and to create opportunities to build the professional development of students and teachers alike.

“Our 2012 schools will provide multiple examples of how technology is being used to maximize learning and increase student achievement,” said Dr. Stephen Dolinger, GPEE president.
