MCS Educator Wins Walk Cobb Golden Sneaker Award

Cobb2020, The Partnership for a Healthier Cobb County, partnered with Walk Georgia through the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension to increase physical activity in a fun, community-oriented way through Walk Cobb.

Marietta City Schools (MCS) educator Leigh Anne Bohacek won the Walk Cobb Golden Sneaker Award.

Cobb2020, The Partnership for a Healthier Cobb County, partnered with Walk Georgia through the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension to increase physical activity in a fun, community-oriented way through Walk Cobb.

The six-week walking campaign started Oct. 1 and ended Nov. 23, 2013.

MCS registered 28 participants. Participants logged their physical activity using the Cobb’s Cooperative Extension Walk Georgia program at walkgeorgia.org.

The MCS Department of Special Services recorded over 2700 “miles”. Bohacek logged a total of 320.7 miles. Other top MCS walkers include, Vicki Koslin (235.3 miles) and Kate Huntley (177.8 miles).
