Remains of Missing Cobb Man ID'd

The Georgia Bureau of Investigations on Friday positively identified the remains of a Kennesaw man who went missing more than two months ago while in the North Georgia mountains, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Richard Arnold "Rick" Masters, 56, was reported missing on July 21 by his brother, who lives in Acworth, after he wasn't heard from in two days. Read more on South Cobb Patch.

Man in Standoff Surrenders to SWAT Team

A Paulding County man surrendered to deputies and SWAT officers Saturday after a standoff that lasted several hours at a Dallas home.

The man's father fled the home with stab wounds, finding safety at a nearby fire station before being taken to Floyd Medical Center, WSB-TV reported. After surrendering, the suspect also was taken there to treat a wound on his hand, a Paulding Sheriff's Office spokesman told Patch. Read more on Dallas Hiram Patch.

Another Tech Fan Falls over Stadium Railing

For the second time in as many Saturday afternoons, a Georgia Tech fan toppled over Bobby Dodd Stadium railing during a Yellow Jacket football defeat.

According to WSB-TV, the Tech freshman fell 15 feet in the northwest bleacher section at Grant Field during Middle Tennessee State’s 49-28 win. Read more Midtown Patch.

Sneiderman Will Be Able to Attend Synagogue

Andrea Sneiderman, accused of being involved with the killing of her husband, will be allowed to leave her parent's house in Fulton County to attend a nearby synagogue for three Jewish holidays.

Judge Gregory Adams ruled Thursday to loosen the bond restrictions. Sneiderman was released on bond in late August with $500,000 and the stipulation that she stay under house arrest at her parents home until trial. Read more Dunwoody Patch.
