Marietta High School Court Named for Coach

Charlie Hood's name will be permanently placed on the Marietta Garden floor as the school dedicates its basketball court to the retired coach.

Retired varsity basketball coach Charlie Hood had the MHS Garden's court named in his honor during a special ceremony Thursday at 7 p.m. before Marietta's game against Lithia Springs.

Hood's name will be permanently placed on the Marietta Garden floor as the school dedicates its basketball court to the retired coach.

The dedication is the summation of an outstanding 37 year career (1973 to 2009) coaching 999 games that includes a record of 715-284, two state championships (1983 and 1999) and 34 winning seasons.
