Marietta's Jennings an Elite 11 QB

The high school junior earned a spot at the national finals by winning MVP honors at Friday's regional football camp.

The talent experts at the camp in Buford, including former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer, rated the junior Blue Devil's performance better than nearly 100 other quarterbacks, mostly in the Class of 2013.

That means Jennings gets a spot in the national finals in July in California while other acclaimed local quarterbacks, such as , do not.

After playing through a knee injury most of last football season and all basketball season, the Marietta star appears healthy and is impressing the experts, ESPN says.

ESPN had Jennings rated as the 13th-best dual-threat quarterback in next year's senior class even before Friday's Elite 11 performance.

Jennings has scholarship offers from 16 colleges and has not declared any favorites while expecting more coaches to come calling.
