William Rankin was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the MLB Draft on Tuesday.

senior pitcher William Rankin was selected in the 2011 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Tuesday by the Colorado Rockies. He was taken in the 17th round and was the 528th player taken overall.

Rankin finished the season with a 9-2 record and a 1.94 earned run average. His nine wins ranked him 24th in Division I baseball and the 1.94 ERA places him 28th.
