Frugal Family: Dollar Movies, Music in Marietta Square, Water Fun, July 4th

Leading up to July 4th, you'll find many fun and exciting activities for the Frugal Family in and around Marietta.

If you enjoy great music, huge water slides or movies, are a history buff or like patriotic happenings, this is your week!

Take a look at all the events you can enjoy either for free or at a bargain cost: 

Wednesday, June 27, Tuesday, July 3 and Wednesday, July 4. Regal Summer Movie Express. Moviegoers of all ages can climb aboard the Summer Movie Express to enjoy a great selection of films. Participating Regal Cinemas will offer selected G or PG-rated movies for only a dollar ($1) on Tuesday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. A portion of proceeds from the Summer Movie Express will be donated to the Will Rogers Institute. June 27: Hugo; July 3: Adventures of Tin Tin; and July 4: Puss in Boots. Participating Regal Cinemas include: Regal Stadium 22 Austell; Town Center Stadium 16 Kennesaw; North Point Market 8 Alpharetta.

Friday, June 29. Glover Park Concert Series—China Grove (Doobie Bros Tribute Band). Free. Families and friends can bring a picnic and enjoy a concert under the stars each month, April through August. Concerts begin at 8 p.m. Get more information on the .

Saturday, June 30. Star Spangled Spectacular with fireworks featuring Georgia Symphony Orchestra & Chorus. Free. Celebrate summer in style with the Starlight Summer Concert Series, presented by the Kennesaw State University College of the Arts. Now Through Aug. 12. Acworth Slide: World's Largest Inflatable Water Slide. The 175' long waterslide is 36-feet high and can be seen from across the lake. $20 Unlimited Rides, $5 for Two Slides, $3 for One Slide.
