Allstate, Sterling Autobody Give the Gift of Transportation

The Tommy Nobis Center will receive a vehicle at the Marietta Sterling Autobody Center.

During the week of Thanksgiving, Allstate Insurance Company and Sterling Autobody Centers will lend a helping hand to families and charities in need of reliable transportation. The companies are donating more than 40 newly refurbished automobiles through the National Auto Body Council’s Recycled Rides Program.

The Tommy Nobis Center will receive a vehicle at the Marietta Sterling Autobody Center at 1371 Bells Ferry Rd. Tuesday at 3 p.m.

“Our participation in the Recycled Rides Program is an extension of Allstate’s commitment to serve the communities in which we do business,” said Bob Holden, Field Senior Vice President for Allstate’s Southeast Region. “We repaired and donated 30 vehicles last year and set a lofty goal of 60 vehicles this year. We’re well on the way to achieving that goal. It is an honor to provide reliable transportation and help get families across the country to their jobs, doctor’s appointments or other places they couldn’t go without a ride.”

The vehicles have been restored to “like new” condition by technicians at Sterling auto body shops. Now the cars are ready to be gifted to non-profit organizations, individuals and families in need of a way to get around town.

“Sterling Autobody Centers has adopted the National Auto Body Council’s Recycled Rides project as a corporate initiative,” said Nick Notte, president of Sterling Autobody Centers and the National Auto Body Council’s 2011 Recycled Rides co-chair. “It makes perfect sense, using the resources of insurers and suppliers to provide the canvas on which repairers can showcase their craft as an art and to benefit deserving charities and families around the country! Who wouldn’t want to participate?"
