Aviation Wing Dedicates New Flag Plaza on Flag Day

Volunteers, government officials and Boy Scouts gather for dedication after months of hard work to create flag plaza.

of the together with the Boy Scouts of America dedicated a new flag plaza in grand style complete with a flag folding demonstration.

The plaza, modeled roughly after one at Arlington National Cemetery, features the U.S. flag at the center with flags of the Army, Marines, Navy and Air Force flying to the sides. Planes nearby include an F-14, an A-4, an A-6, an A-7 and an S-3.

The plaza, as with many aspects of the Aviation Wing museum, developed through the help of many volunteers ranging from the scouts to retired military to former Lockheed employees. To volunteer, call 770-794-5710.
