Cobb Alcohol Taskforce 2nd Annual Youth Summit Council

Cobb County middle and high school students can register to attend the Oct. 29 summit council.

The Cobb Alcohol Taskforce Youth Council is a youth-led movement. Never before has an issue required the guts and spirit of youth to move it forward; to shake the cages of communities everywhere to make changes, to rattle adults out of complacency, and to rub the sleep out of politician’s eyes and get them to wake up to the problem of underage and youth binge drinking that affects thousands of youth everyday.

The Take It Back Movement is about youth power, youth influence, and youth brains. It’s about imagining the future different, telling the truth, using data to back the story, refusing censorship, staying at the edge, creating action, and generating results. It’s about youth coming together to make a difference in underage and youth binge drinking.

Middle or high school students are encouraged to apply. The requirements:

  • Represent an existing school or community youth group located in Cobb County.
  • Be motivated to reduce underage and youth binge drinking.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to share and learn specific skills.
  • Complete an application.
  • Be willing to serve as a member of this youth council for a minimum of two years.

A completed application form includes the following:

  • Completely filled out application including the youth skill/interest survey.
  • Responses to the two questions that are part of the online form.
  • Downloadable application form.
