CPS Collects for Christmas

Cobb Pregnancy is asking for help with food, gift cards and toys for stockings.

is collecting items to throw a Christmas party for 200 adults and children. This client dinner is often the only Christmas these mothers, fathers and children have.

"We try to pick the most needy single moms we've seen this year, who have children old enough to know what Christmas is," executive director of Lori Parker said.

The party is held at and is a "Thanksgiving type of dinner."

Children will do crafts and sing songs while volunteers hold babies so parents can enjoy their meals.

Cobb Pregnancy will distribute a $25 gift card per child to parents. Children will receive stockings full of toys.

Cobb Pregnancy asks for help with food, gift cards to , , or in $25 increments so parents can shop themselves and get what they want and need for children, as well as help with the stockings.

"It's a great event," Parker said. "We love it. It's amazing how it all comes together and how much fun everyone has.

"Our clients have hard lives and they need a day to relax, have fun and celebrate with their children."

CPS is a a year including:

  • Free doctor verified pregnancy tests;
  • Free limited ultrasounds to confirm viability, intrauterine pregnancy and gestational age based on fetal measurements;
  • Prenatal vitamins;
  • Pregnancy options;
  • Medicaid information;
  • Medical referrals;
  • Referrals to other help agencies; and
  • A variety of classes/counseling, which offer assistance.
