First of all, this is the coolest toy store to go into. They have the old fashion, tried and true type toys that have been entertaining kids for years. I stopped in on Tuesday afternoon to buy a gift for my nephew's 5th birthday. Since my son is now in college, I really didn't know what to get. The salesperson was very helpful. She let me touch the toys and "play" a little while I was there. She was not pushy at all but gave me good suggestions. She even offered to gift wrap my selection. I will be sure to shop at Lizards and Lollipops again and I may just have to stop in to "play" next time I am at the square.

Today, I was shopping for a gift for my 4 year old grandson. I had no idea what to get for him, and the lady who was working in the store was very helpful. It was refreshing to get the one on one help. This is why I prefer to shop small local businesses over the big box stores. I did not purchase anything today because his birthday is not til the end of next month. But, I will definitely be back. They have a wonderful selection of toys, the store is very warm and inviting, and the salesperson was very personable.

I wish there was a way to give this store 2.5 stars; 5 stars for the store itself, but 1 or 0 stars for the lady running the shop. Our first visit there today was met with the lady operating the shop spending about 20 minutes chit chatting with a local police officer. I know it was chit chat because she walked by and said he comes in here to warm up. That was the only time she acknowledged us as being in the store. When we were ready to check out we waited almost 15 MINUTES for her to stop chatting enough to check us out. I was guessing he was her husband or boyfriend from the way they appeared to be chatting; from what I could hear it wasn't police business. I obviously am not the brightest bulb in the box; after we had lunch we went back to get a gift for a friend of ours. This same lady was now on the phone and was avoiding eye contact with us and another customer. She gabbed on the phone for quite sometime as we stood there waiting for her to acknowledge us as customers. We had a question for her regarding the gift we were going to buy and age appropriateness, but finally settled on a little board book and were waiting to check out. Not one word was spoken to us and finally she said to the person on the other end of the phone "I am going to have to set the phone down" Geez, no wonder the store wasn't that busy; and probably never will be with her working there. I won't be going back as long as she works there. If she is the owner she deserves to go broke.
