The Marietta Fire Department, centrally located in its headquarters in Fire Station No. 1 in downtown Marietta, serves about 62,000 residents and 7,300 businesses within a 22.78 square-mile fire district.

The department employs four civilians and 131 uniformed personnel in six fire stations across the city. In addition to fire fighting, the Marietta Fire Department engages in fire prevention, fire code inspections, investigations and sponsorship of fire, emergency medicine and safety programs.

Fire Station No. 1 also houses the Marietta Fire Museum, which features uniforms, equipment and apparatus used by the department since the late 1800s.

Jackie Gibbs, 33-year veteran of the department, serves as the current fire chief of Marietta.
