Marietta Sixth Grade Academy
770-429-3115
As the name suggests, Marietta Sixth Grade Academy educates the city's sixth grade public school students, nearly 600 of them. With a focus on a single grade, the school is designed to help students transition from elementary to middle school. The academy has adopted the International Baccalaureate Middle Years program, meaning that its academic program encourages students to develop global perspectives through inquiry-based learning and critical thinking. The school also offers the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) magnet program, which is geared for students with a high interest in those subjects. Dayton Hibbs is the principal of this Marietta City school.
