Marietta High School's rich heritage stretches back more than a century and, since its establishment in 1892, has…More been open at six different locations on Kennesaw Avenue, Waterman Street, Lemon Street, Winn Street, Haynes Street, and now, Whitlock Avenue. The current school's hallways are named after those streets.
Following that "main street" concept, the school design places the theater, gymnasium and administrative offices at the front, while classroom wings are divided according to academic focus: the ninth grade's "school within a school," career tech, math and science, and the humanities.
Marietta High boasts a diverse population among its nearly 2,000 students. Flags from 42 countries fly within the school.
In 2010, Marietta High School earned a bronze medal from U.S. News & World Report and School Evaluation Services, a rare distinction among 21,786 public high schools examined in the magazine's annual report.
