Marietta High School student leaders are teaming up with city of Marietta elected officials to learn from each other. Students were welcomed into the inaugural Mayor's Youth Council Nov. 7.
Mayor Steve Tumlin and Marietta High School Student Council Faculty Advisors Kibbie DeJarnett and Kristen Rokovunisei introduced the Marietta High School Youth Council at Monday's City Council meeting. The members were sworn in at the meeting. Members include:

Take a look at the agenda for tonight's Marietta City Council meeting.
Following a city council agenda review session at 6 p.m. in the council chamber of city hall, the Marietta City Council will hold a meeting. The meeting is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. The Marietta Youth Council will be sworn in, the Emphasys Software Pioneer of the Year award will be presented to Daphne Bradwell and Hilda Bishop and the winners of the fire safety poster contest for fire prevention week will be recognized. The rezoning request for the RaceTrac located at 1400 Powder Springs Rd. is on the agenda tonight. The council meeting will air the last Saturday in November at 3 p.m. on Comcast Channel 23.
