Video: Marietta Will Not Forget

Schools, veterans and community organizations from across Cobb County came together to honor the men and women who have served our country on Friday.

Veterans Day is a national holiday honoring all veterans and commemorating those who have passed on.  It is observed annually on Nov. 11, the day on which the Armistice ending World War I between the Allies and Germany was signed in 1918.  The Armistice was signed on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. This year, Nov. 11, 2011, at 11 a.m., the City of Marietta honored the 93rd anniversary of the event with a parade and ceremony. The seventh annual Marietta Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony was hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Marietta and the City of Marietta.  The keynote speaker was the Honorable Michael J. Bowers, Maj. Gen.
