The Cobb County Police Department needs the public's help.
The Cobb County Police Department is looking for the suspect in a Friday night armed robbery at Georgia Auto Pawn. At approximately 6 p.m., a heavyset man walked into the business at 2000 South Cobb Dr., flashed a silver and black revolver and demanded money from the cash register, said Officer Mike Bowman, spokesman for the police department. The suspect fled the business in an unknown direction after taking an unknown amount of cash. The suspect, described as a 6-foot-2 black man, was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, gloves and a ski mask. Cobb authorities are looking for two armed robbers who forced their way inside a Marietta residence Friday evening and ransacked it. The robbery occurred just before 7:45 p.m. Friday as the residents arrived at their home in the 2600 block of Hicks Road, said Officer Mike Bowman, the spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department. Two men wearing ski masks made the victims stay in a bedroom while they ransacked the house. After taking a variety of the victims' belongings, the men fled the home in an unknown direction. Robbers, one of them armed with a black semiautomatic handgun, hit the Waffle House at 3635 Austell Rd. this morning, and the Cobb County Police Department needs help locating them. Just before 2:30 a.m., two black men with blue bandanas covering their faces entered the restaurant and demanded that the cashier open the cash register, said Officer Mike Bowman, the spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and a small safe directly below the register before fleeing from the Waffle House in opposite directions, he said. Marietta Police are looking for a male suspect who held up a Walgreens pharmacy early Friday. Police said a light-skinned black male entered the store at 23 South Marietta Parkway, at the intersection of Whitlock Avenue just off the Marietta Square, around 12:30 a.m. The suspect produced a handgun to a store clerk and got away with cartons of cigarettes and cash, then left the store on foot toward South Marietta Parkway, according to police. There was no further description of the suspect, and anyone with information is asked to call Marietta Police Detective Mike Freer at 770-794-5477 or the Anonymous Tip Line at 770-794-6990.

A taxi cab driver for A-1 Taxi was robbed near the intersection of Hollydale Court and Red Berry Lane in Marietta on Jan. 4.
The Cobb County Police Department is investigating an armed robbery, which occurred near the intersection of Hollydale Court and Red Berry Lane in Marietta on Jan. 4. According to investigators, a taxi cab driver for A-1 Taxi was dispatched to pick up a fare at a residence on Hollydale Court. When he arrived near the intersection of Red Berry Lane, two men got into the back seat while a third man approached the car on foot. As the man who was approaching the car got closer, he began demanding money from the driver. At the same time, one of the two men in the back seat produced a handgun and pointed it at the victim. A Delk Road motel was robbed earlier this week and Marietta Police are seeking the public's help in identifying the suspect. Marietta Police spokesman David Baldwin said in a release issued Sunday morning that a man held up the Motel 6 Northwest Marietta, 2360 Delk Road, around 10 a.m. Thursday. The suspect is described as a black male, six feet tall and between 170-180 pounds. He has low cut hair and was wearing rimmed prescription glasses, according to Baldwin. Police said a man approached the motel's front desk, telling the clerk he had a gun in his jacket pocket and demanded money from the register.
