Theater Companies Move into Former Theatre in the Square

Out of Box Theatre and Next Stage Theatre Company have leased the smaller space known as Alley Stage in Marietta's now-defunct Theatre in the Square.

Out of Box Theatre will be joining Next Stage Theatre Company as a company-in-residence at Alley Stage. Next Stage has leased the smaller space in the Marietta building that formerly housed the now-defunct Theatre in the Square. Next Stage's director, Rob Hardie is delighted to have Out of Box join them. “Carolyn Choe is one of the best directors in town and joining forces with Out of Box Theatre was a no-brainer," Hardie said in a press release. Gone with the Wind, Historic Homes and Markets Make for Great Saturday in Marietta

History and traditions dominate Marietta today and The 5 Things as well.

1. Local celebrations surrounding the 75th anniversary of Margaret Mitchell's Gone with the Wind continue today at the Marietta Gone with the Wind Museum with an autograph session at 10 a.m., followed by a swap meet in the museum courtyard at 12:30 p.m. From 3 to 5 p.m. at the ballroom of the Hilton Marietta Hotel and Conference Center, authors Anne Edwards, Marianne Walker, John Wiley and Susan Lindsley will discuss how Mitchell’s novel influenced them.
