Marietta School Bus, Car Collision Injures 15
A car turning onto Polk Street from North Marietta Parkway failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was broadsided by a school bus on its way to Marietta High School.
Fifteen people were injured when a school bus and a car collided at the intersection of Polk Street and North Marietta Parkway Friday morning. The accident occurred around 7:15 a.m. when a car (with a mom and her seventh-grade son) turning left onto Polk Street from the North Marietta Parkway “failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was broadsided by a school bus,” Marietta Police Officer David Baldwin said. The 12-year-old boy in the car was airlifted to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite with life-threatening injuries, Baldwin said.
