Money, Laptops Stolen from Cobb Church

The suspect faces a charge of burglary.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Marietta man accused of taking money and laptops from Radiant Life Church. Alvin George Bloodworth allegedly took the items sometime between 9 p.m. April 28 and noon April 29. Cobb County police were led to Bloodworth after he allegedly sold one of the laptops to an electronics store on Austell Road on April 29. "The accused was positively identified as the person who sold the stolen computer," the officer wrote in the Cobb County criminal warrant. Bloodworth faces a charge of burglary.

Cobb Residential Burglaries Probed

Police have increased patrols in areas where three overnight break-ins occurred this week.

Cobb Police say they have increased patrols in an area of East Cobb after three residential burglaries took place this week while residents were sleeping. All three incidents occurred in neighborhoods located off Lower Roswell Road, east of Johnson Ferry Road. Officer Michael Bowman of the Cobb Police said in a release issued Thursday night that the first incident took place late Monday night at a home on Saints Court. The perpetrator or perpetrators took a handgun from an unlocked vehicle in the garage, then stole a laptop computer from inside the home before a door alarm woke up the residents. 3 Charged in Whitlock Heights Burglary Crime Spree

Between Oct. 31 to Nov. 6, three burglaries and one attempted burglary were reported in the Whitlock Heights Subdivision.

Marietta Police arrested three suspects in a burglary crime spree that occurred over a six day period in the Whitlock Heights Subdivision. Between Oct. 31 to Nov. 6, three burglaries and one attempted burglary were reported in the subdivision, according to Marietta Police Public Information Officer David Baldwin. The suspects were identified through investigative efforts that included working with the victims and witnesses. Rachael Coleman, 26, of Marietta, is charged with felony theft by receiving, three counts of felony burglary and misdemeanor charges of theft by deception and drug possession, Baldwin said.
