Caisson Procession Honors Slain Trooper
Fellow law enforcement officers lined up in Marietta to guide Chad LeCroy's body to Roswell Street Baptist Church.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol Caisson Unit carried Georgia Highway Patrol Trooper Chad LeCroy from the Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home on Church Street to Roswell Street Baptist Church this afternoon in Marietta. North Carolina Highway Patrol 1st Sgt. Gary McClelland said two of the horses in today's procession were part of the team that carried President Ronald Reagan's body. The Caisson Unit is ready on 24 hours' notice. The Caisson Unit is a partnership between the North Carolina Trooper's Association and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
