The Chick-fil-A controversy continues, with company President Dan Cathy speaking out on recent events that led some to believe that the company was backing off its stance on marriage. According to the Huffington Post, on Sept. 21, Cathy issued a statement on former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee’s website denying these reports, claiming the company has made no "concessions" to gay marriage supporters. “There continues to be erroneous implications in the media that Chick-fil-A changed our practices and priorities in order to obtain permission for a new restaurant in Chicago. That is incorrect. Chick-fil-A made no such concessions, and we remain true to who we are and who we have been," Cathy's statement said. -- Do you support Chick-fil-A's …

The Georgia-based fast food chain has been catching flak for president Dan Cathy’s statements against same sex marriage.
Marci Alt, a lesbian mother of two from Atlanta, has launched a Change.org petition urging Chick-fil-A President and COO Dan Cathy to meet with her family and have a conversation over dinner about family and faith. Cathy recently became the subject of national controversy after making statements against same sex marriage. “I hope Mr. Cathy will join my family for dinner, where we can share a respectful dialogue about our faith, work, and families here in Georgia,” said Alt. “Mr. Cathy has his opinion, but he should hear from us and from fellow Christians who disagree.” Alt’s Change.org petition has garnered more than 20,000 signatures since it launched, all responding to Cathy’s comments last month.
