Marietta Elementary Choice Academies Random Drawings Scheduled

The random drawings determine student placement for available West Side Elementary kindergarten seats, and wait lists for West Side kindergarten, second and fifth grade, and A.L. Burruss Elementary first grade for the 2013-2014 school year.

Marietta City Schools (MCS) will hold Choice Academies random drawings Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at 5 p.m. at the Central Administrative Offices located at 250 Howard Street in Marietta. The random drawings determine student placement for available West Side Elementary kindergarten seats, and wait lists for West Side kindergarten, second and fifth grade and A.L. Bring Your Own Technology to School

Blue Devil Connect provides wireless internet access to students, teachers and visitors of Marietta High School.

With the launch of the new Blue Devil Connect Wi-Fi Hotspot, students and visitors to Marietta High School, will be able to login to the school’s wireless data network. Blue Devil Connect provides the necessary infrastructure for the Bring Your Own Technology initiative. Through BYOT, students can now bring their personal mobile computing devices (smartphones, laptops, iPads and tablet personal computers) to school. “One of the goals of the Marietta City Schools Technology Improvement Plan is to increase access for students, teachers and the Marietta community. In keeping with this goal, Marietta High School’s Blue Devil Connect will provide content-filtered wireless Internet access to the entire school community,” said Dayton Hibbs, MCS …

School social workers work daily to address barriers to learning, and they support teachers as they prepare students to be college and career ready.

Marietta City Schools will hold Choice Academies random drawings for West Side and Sawyer Road Elementary wait lists, Thursday, Feb. 16, at 5 p.m. The random drawings, at the MCS Central Administrative Offices, 250 Howard St. in Marietta, determine student placement for position on a waiting list for the 2012-2013 school year.
