Marietta City Schools (MCS) will hold Choice Academies random drawings Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at 5 p.m. at the Central Administrative Offices located at 250 Howard Street in Marietta. The random drawings determine student placement for available West Side Elementary kindergarten seats, and wait lists for West Side kindergarten, second and fifth grade and A.L. With the launch of the new Blue Devil Connect Wi-Fi Hotspot, students and visitors to Marietta High School, will be able to login to the school’s wireless data network. Blue Devil Connect provides the necessary infrastructure for the Bring Your Own Technology initiative. Through BYOT, students can now bring their personal mobile computing devices (smartphones, laptops, iPads and tablet personal computers) to school. “One of the goals of the Marietta City Schools Technology Improvement Plan is to increase access for students, teachers and the Marietta community.
