More than 70 vendors will showcase their best dishes, including Italian, seafood, steak, BBQ and desserts, at the 20th annual Taste of Marietta.
More than 70 vendors will showcase their best dishes, including Italian, seafood, steak, BBQ and desserts, which range in cost from 50 cents to $5, at the 20th annual Taste of Marietta Sunday, April 28 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on the Marietta Square. At last year's event, more than 100,000 people hit the streets to sample their favorite foods. Live bands will perform free concerts all day at five stages on the Square. Main Stage South Park Stage MBA West Park Stage East Park Stage Church Street Stage Evening concert tables The Marietta Square Farmers Market will be closed Sunday, April 28 to make room for the festival. The market will be open Saturday, April 27 and return to North Park Square Saturday, May 4.

Marc Taft of the Chicken and the Egg in Marietta will participate in the second annual Golden Onion competition featuring Georgia’s state vegetable, the Vidalia onion.
Twelve Georgia chefs, including Marietta's Marc Taft, will soon reveal layers of their own talent as well as the versatility of the famous Vidalia onion. The 2nd Annual Golden Onion will be held on Sunday, April 14, in Vidalia, GA, as the official kick-off to the 36th Annual Vidalia Onion Festival. This professional cooking competition showcases the Vidalia onion, Georgia’s official state vegetable, and also serves as a platform for chefs across Georgia to display their skills and creativity. Seed Kitchen & Bar has been a part of Cobb County cuisine for 16 months. "The menu has evolved seasonally (since the opening)," Doug Turbush, owner and chef at Seed, explained of the modern American neighborhood restaurant located at Merchant's Walk. Turbush was educated at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY and has worked in Bangkok, Thailand, Minneapolis and Atlanta. He has lived in East Cobb for 13 years. Im not surprised at the score the Cajuan Crawfish and seafood got,I go in to order and the glass case that displays the food was dirty. You can tell the dont clean it at night.
