Take a look at family fun events going on in Marietta this weekend here. On the more practical side there will be a housing forum, Sip n' Stroll focusing on trees, free medication disposal and gardening workshop. 1. Join representatives from the city's housing, Community Development Division, Marietta Housing Authority and Cobb County Neighborhood Stabilization Program for the Homeownership Housing Forum. The second annual Wild West Fest, the semi-annual book sale in support of the Cobb Libraries, a charity wine tasting and a gardening workshop are just some of the things happening in Marietta this weekend.
1. It's the second annual Wild West Fest at Jim Miller Park, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cowboys and cowgirls, gunslingers, fast-draw demonstrations and lasso lessons are just a few of the adventures planned for the day. You can listen to cowboy music and visit the chuck wagon to see how ranch hands cook. You’ll also witness sheriffs arresting the “bad guys” (local celebrities and community leaders) and taking them to the jail-house on site. They won’t be released until they raise bail money, which will also go to the libraries. 2. The Friends of the Cobb County Public Library System’s semi-annual book sale will be held Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Jim Miller Park.
