Armed Robbers Ransack Marietta Home

The robbery occurred just before 7:45 p.m. Friday as the residents arrived home.

Cobb authorities are looking for two armed robbers who forced their way inside a Marietta residence Friday evening and ransacked it. The robbery occurred just before 7:45 p.m. Friday as the residents arrived at their home in the 2600 block of Hicks Road, said Officer Mike Bowman, the spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department. Two men wearing ski masks made the victims stay in a bedroom while they ransacked the house. After taking a variety of the victims' belongings, the men fled the home in an unknown direction. Both of the black male suspects were armed with unknown caliber handguns, Bowman said. One of the suspects is 5-foot-11 with a muscular build. Cobb Road Work, Lane Closures

Take a look at the road work being done around Marietta and Cobb County this week, Monday, Oct. 29 through Friday, Nov. 2.

The following road work will be done in Cobb County from Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 through Friday, Nov. 2, according to JoAnn Birrell, Woody Thompson and Helen Goreham. NB Barrett Pkwy (Burnt Hickory Road to US 41: You can expect periodic lane closures northbound between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. between Burnt Hickory Road and Cobb Parkway (US 41).  One lane will remain open at all times as the contractor performs grading operations, wall construction and storm drainage work. Various utility companies will be relocating services which should not affect your service.
