Got a snaggletooth in your household? Here's how to keep them happy. The tooth fairy, the longtime nocturnal visitor who leaves financial treats under pillows in exchange for childrens' ejected teeth, has to adjust for inflation too. So how much does a lost tooth earn in 2013? An average of $3, apparently, although there's word that one went for as much as $10 in Suwanee recently. In the 21st century, there's digital help. Visa, as part of a financial education program, has an online Tooth Fairy calculator. Testing the filter options: For Georgia, parents' age of 45, and household income of $40-49.9k, with a college education, there was an interesting variable. Are your kids tired of the same old bagged lunches? Spice things up with homemade Lunchables and bento boxes.
The kids have recently returned to school after winter break but you may already be in a “packed lunch slump.” Here are 10 ways to make packed lunches healthy, fun and fast: 1. You can purchase Laptop Lunches online or at Whole Foods. 2. Wrap it & have your child choose the filling. Kids love having turkey and cheese or veggies with hummus wrapped in a tortilla. …

So, I was super excited to return with my children and share the experience with them. Going back as a parent is totally different. Gone are the days of running from ride to ride carefree. No, when you're the grown up it takes lots of planning and organizing to make the trip run smoothly. I did as much research as I could before leaving for the trip. I read guide books and asked experienced friends for tips. Yet, there are some things that you can only learn by living through them. Here are a few things that I learned from my time at …

Part 2 of a series of articles on how to help children focus. This article addresses how to have smoother sailing at homework time.
Following up my last article that addressed the fundamentals parents should first consider when kids are having trouble focusing, this article addresses how to help your child focus when it’s time to get the homework done. Set the mood Establish a specific place in your home for homework. A desk, table or even the kitchen island cleared off of everything except for pencils, pens, ruler, and other supplies needed for homework. Make certain there is good lighting. Turn off all televisions and turn the ringer off on the phone. It’s important to try to avoid all visual and auditory distractions. If your kitchen is grand central station, then create a homework space in a quiet dining room or office. Some children actually do better at homework …
